The perfect location for tourism- Centro historical. 30 sec walk to street Cinco de Mayo & 1 min to the main shopping street - Francisco I Madero. About 5-10min walk to Zocalo square where all the sights are or 10 minute walk to Latino Tower where you can go up & see how vast this city is.
From airport, taxi cost about 225 peso direct from a stand & should take 45 minutes daytime or 20 minutes early morning pre-rush hour. There is also a metro very close by but did not use. It is located in a general old authentic Mexican classical apartment building called Santa Clara.
The room 'Satsanga' was all ready when I arrived at 11am- though you must let the lovely owner know as sometime check-in won't be open until 2pm- though they will hold your luggage.
The room was large & spacious with a super comfortable bed, bed side tables either side with homely lamps & US plugs are available on a cord on the floor one side of bed.
At the end of bed is a small luggage rack. In the room is a small sofa & small table (built into wall) - there is no TV or A/C but I noticed Fan's are available in a cupboard in the bathroom. The bathroom is spacious with combination shower & bath, they did offer some towels plus small unbranded shampoo & shower gel.
Overall room was comfortable & despite no TV was very homely, cosy with staying with a family type feel.
There is WIFI- open & worked fast- multiple devices. Outside of room is a communal living room that has a TV, sofa, table etc. It has a Hindu Yoga type theme but authentic Mexican with colourful decor. They also offer a basket of free mini Apple looking fruits, which were delicious. The whole apartment was very safe & secure with locked gates in the apartment building.
Staff were the highlight, the owner or lady that work in the office was super nice & helpful. She spoke English perfectly, helped me with restaurant, tourist sight recommendations using a map. Always welcoming and very kind, gracious lady.
She & possibly her daughter offered an authentic warm Mexican welcome, relaxed & kind.
I was only at this place for one night & has to leave very early next morning so did not experience the breakfast. Overall I highly reccomend first time visitors or tourist wanting to be in heart of historical district, that like a more personal approach to service rather the typical hotel atmosphere. I look forward to staying here again on my next visit to Mexico.

Located literally 5 minute drive from SAL airport. Shuttle buses run every 30 minutes at 20 & 50 past the hour & 30 past when travelling back to the airport. Its free. There is nothing around hotel as hotel has tall fence and is secure with armed guards. San Salvador is about 40-45 minutes drive away and costs $25-30 USD by taxi. Beaches I believe are less than 15-20 minutes away.
Room is of average size, very much motel style but with a comfortable double bed, offering a arm chair and table and desk. There is a luggage rack and large flat screen TV with satellite channels on top huge set of empty drawers. The bedside table offers conservative lamps, alarm clock and phone and the desk has a large mirror. Plug are fairly good with all US plug close to the bed and two is on the desk lamp.
The room offers a large empty fridge, Microwave and coffee machine, there is a large wardrobe that contains a iron and ironing board- but what is essentially missing in this room is a safe. There is also no bath robe.
The bathroom is typical american motel style, shower/bath combo - worked well with hot water. There was Quality Inn branded shampoo, Shower gel and Body lotion. It was clean.
WIFI is $6.90 per 24 hours- it was slow and kept cutting out. It was my main disappointment with this hotel as if you expect to pay then it should work very well.
The hotel offers two restaurants but only used one where breakfast is served. Thought breakfast had excellent and an interesting selection of food items, mostly central american but very tasty. There is though an egg station and plenty of fruit and breads.
There is a small pool, not big enough for lengths though and they also placed a volley ball net inside, however a pool bar and plenty of sun lounges are available. Saw a tennis courts in the grounds. In the lobby area is a pool table, business centre, some ATM machines and a small souvenir shop that also offers snacks as well as mini bathroom consumables.
Staff were quite efficient at reception, spoke English well and check-in/out was smooth. Other staff such as house keeping acknowledge you with a pleasant Buenos Dias as you walk past. In the restaurant some stuff cannot speak English but still are polite and welcoming. Overall staff are very nice at this hotel.
As a summary this hotel is a good option to have for between flights and possibly going to the beaches which are not far- however due to situation, you are in a guarded compound so not much to see or do outside of the hotel, i.e to walk to. The hotel is basically a simple motel style hotel but is quite pricey for overnight when compared to downtown San Salvador but it is safe and comfortable- just nothing special. San Salvador city does not really have much to offer in my opinion to warrant staying there- a day tour from hotel is offered at $90 and that is fine.
