Hotel ibis London Luton Airport (Luton, UK)

3 Case Rating

The hotel is located about 10-15 minutes walk from/to London Luton Airport departures gate. If your driving there, its pretty easy to spot just before the entrance to the airport on the left (coming from M1 or Luton). Around the hotel other than the airport there doesn’t seem to be much about like shops.

The room is typical of British travel inn type hotels, small, basic but adequate. The room had two twin bed which were fairly soft and comfortable. There was a medium sized TV which worked fine and offered all free-view channels, I believe there is an option to purchase unlimited in-house movies for £9.99 but didn’t go with this option. There is a basic open cupboard with pigeon holes and small desk with Tea set. It’s practical and simple for a quick overnight stay. The bathroom is adequate with a bath and shower combo. Small basic sink with two small towels and the only amenity being a bar of soap. There was a sign in the elevator with the option of buying shaving or dental kits (£3). There is a AC unit with remote but didn’t use. WIFI is secure and available free of charge, it was fairly fast for UK standards. The room was fairly clean but as I said very simple(no pictures or decoration- simple ikea style furniture).

The hotel has one large restaurant downstairs, its fairly simple and generic with bar type foods that one would expect to get at a Weatherspoons/cheap bar food. Ordered food for room which is an option but you have to pick it up using a tray. Food was Piri Piri Chicken burger (£10) and tasted ok with decent chunky chips. The restaurant also has a large pool table and bar area.

Staff were ok, check-in was fairly efficient even though it was quite busy. The restaurant staff were helpful and polite.

Overall the hotel was ok for a one night stop that requires being close to the airport. It is simple but the price of £33 was good value for money.
