The hotel is located about half a mile from I-5 in Tumwater.
Seattle airport is one hour or 55 miles away. Portland, OR is about 110 miles or 1hr 45 min drive.
Its a great place to break up a drive in the middle of Washington for a night coming from Oregon or north Washington state.
Within the area are various stores like Fred Meyer, Walmart and lots with fast food places everywhere, KFC is walking distance. Great mexican restaurant nearby.
The spacious room had a raised high soft king size bed.
The bed is comfy with mattress topper but didn't much like the pillows.
There are bed side tables with lamps but power sockets are behind the cabinets. However an alarm clock does have a USB socket behind it on one side.
The bed faces a large cabinet that has a large TV with full cable, microwave and large refrigerator.
There is a working desk with lamp are here are plenty of sockets. There is also a sofa and coffee table, great for eating take-aways and watching TV.
The room also includes a large sink that also has hot drinks machines on top. This is the main sink form the bathroom.
Since the bathroom is in a small room containing only the toilet and a bath and shower combo. They offer small amenity bottles of their in house brand.
An iron and ironing board is also on offer with some clothes hangers. Heating / AC is a large unit but wasn't that noisy. Decor is kind of dull but traditional.
The hotel offers decent speed WIFI. Also two computer are in the lobby.
There is breakfast on offer is better than most motel quite decent and includes some scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, plenty of breads and bagels, cereals, yogurts and fruits. Plus a pancake machine, juice dispensers and coffee machine. Its as nice and the room plays the news. They also offer cookies and coffee in reception.
For leisure facilities there is a small gym and adjoining room with hot tub.
Plenty of free parking is offered.
Staff were nice and friendly with quick check-in/out. Breakfast lady was overly enthusiastic and happy.
It was fine for one night, comfortable and very clean. Not quite Hampton Suites but a decent product that was good value for money.

Sheltered Hook is in bay city right on Oregon coast about 77 miles west of Portland, thru the stunning Tillamook forest.
Small coastal town within a bay with fresh sea air.
The famous Cannon Beach is only about 30 minutes drive up the coast. The small town of Bay city has a handful of restaurants and bars. 101 route north is one of the most picturesque coastal roads in the world and runs thru here.
Wanted to experience the popular Oregon concept of a tiny house for one night. They have some in Portland but double the price and heard the Oregon coast is better place to go. The tiny cabins at Sheltered Nook is so cosy & functional. Far better than staying in any hotel & far cheaper.
As you enter the home, there is a small veranda that accommodates a decent gas barbecue & two outside seating for eating. It is covered and cosy at night for smokers displaying the lighted coloured bulbs at each house.
Inside is initially an open plan kitchen & living room with small stair case leading to two double beds upstairs. Very low ceiling but does have some cosy windows behind your pillow. There are plenty of sockets & lights.
The living room has a sofa & arm chair with a nice warm soft blanket. It that faces this really nice visual fireplace heater, creating a mellow ambience.
TV is cable with plenty of channels, DVD player is also offered with plenty of DVD’s on offer for free to rent at reception. There is also a table to pull out when dining for 2.
The full stocked kitchen offers an oven, microwave, huge fridge & a decent coffee pod machine, with creamers, milks and was really nice. Also a kettle for tea lovers.
Inside the refrigerator they include a breakfast basket containing an apple, homemade egg bake to heat up, yogurt & a pastry. Quite tasty and generous of them given the rate they charge.
The main bed room is at the back & has a super comfy bed thanks to premium mattress topper & decent quality bedding. Flexi-reading lights, sockets & bedside table either side. Overhead fan & electric heaters that worked well. It is quite a small room that the large kind size bed take up most of it.
Bathroom has a shower that worked well and they offer small bottle shampoo & body lotions with plenty of towels.
It’s all in wooden decor & really has all the amenities that one would expect at your own home.
Loved it very much and would certainly come back. Especially enjoyed relaxing at night watching the digital fire place. It is also secure with a peronsalised pin code access to each home.
They offer free parking & have a super fast free WiFi. Each box is within each home.
The reception as mentioned has DVD's and some other drink items available.
Staff couldn’t be more welcoming with personal explanation of home & area. They were really helpful.
Overall a very nice concept & very reasonably priced for what you get.

The hotel is located in Anacortes. Stayed here to be half way to Vancouver airport (2hour drive) from Olympic National park.
Seattle is about 1.5 hours south and Everett about an hour. Noticed some shops, bar and fast food places less than 10 minutes walk away. The hotel is on a side road in a quiet residential area. Its in a scenic area with the coast close by.
The room was very cosy and comfortable. Can be described as more or less like or better than a Hamptons inn or similar standard of brand but with a sort of warm cosy comfortable & boutique feel.
The bed was exceptionally comfortable especially the premium soft bedding & high quality mattress topper, better than some five stars I have stayed at.
Either side is a bed side table with lamp that has helpful power sockets on it, plus a telephone and a clock radio.
Facing bed is a flat screen TV with full cable channels. Below is a microwave & to the side an AC unit. A Large desk is offered, convenient to work on a laptop from and also has a large mirror for those that need this. There is also a wardrobe with handy ironing board and iron.
Next to desk is a large fridge and above is some small hot drink facilities. There is also a comfy modern arm chair and stool. Great for watching TV & better chair than you find in a lot of hotels these days.
Bathroom was of decent size with a large oval (could fit two) bath combined with a shower. The hotel offers a full set of amenities and decent towels.
Overall the room was exceptionally comfortable, the management clearly make a lot effort in the quality and detail for their guests.
The hotel offers fast WIFI and worked fine.
Breakfast is included and they offer bagels, muffins, a pancake machine, fruits, yogurts and spreads. It tasted nice and fresh but simple. They also offer a vending machine for snacks and drinks.
Public computer is offered for those without a personal machine. Parking is also free and if your lucky you can park outside your room, otherwise less than a minute walk.
Lady at check-in was very kind when I called her to confirm I wont be able to make the 9pm check-in closing time as described by an popular hotel booking website that I booked with. She actually is there until 10pm and I fortunately made it but otherwise she mentioned arrangements can be made via a secure key pick up system.
Overall the room is very comfortable and slept well, cannot fault anything wrong with it. If I find myself in Anacortes again, I will surely choose this hotel as it is reasonably priced for the quality of comfort you get.

Hotel is located about 2km from IST airport. Its right at the end of the runway next to main highway. They do operate a shuttle of which is suppose to leave international arrivals terminal from airport at 30 past every hour but where to locate bus at this time is very difficult. There is no specific spot that it stops at and the mini bus looks much like all the others that drive thru airport.
I stayed at hotel 4 days coming from airport every day and never was able to find it.
Taxi's here can be the worst in the world and seem unimpressed when you want to go to this hotel, since its close- so they try and rip you off. They should charge no more than twenty lira but expect sixty and above and they can be very rude.
Recommend Turkish Uber called Bitaksi an app for smart phones that is very easy use. With that it is about 12-15L and you should look out for the registration seen on app, it is the same yellow taxi but they can't overcharge.
Getting to airport is fine since the hotel shuttle goes on the hour.
To get to old town or main touristic district, it can take up to 1.5 hours or 40 minutes depending on traffic.
Within area is a few Kebab restaurants in a town behind hotel or by the gas station, 50 metres from hotel.
What they call the business class room was in a long room with bed at the end. It was spacious.
Large king size bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows & each side are reading spot lights in addition to lamps. Euro two pin plugs are also located there and switches for all lights. No alarm clock.
The long rectangular room had a wooden desk, mirror and TV to one side. TV has about 30 channels that includes BBC, CCTV, RTL and National Geographic.
Two comfy armchairs, one with stool and coffee table is offered.
Large wardrobe cabinet with a nesexpreso coffee machine and 2 pods plus two bottle of water are included. A laptop size safe, robe and slippers inside. On wall is a trouser press combined with ironing board.
The bathroom offered a combination of a bath & shower in one.
Mini bottle amenities of body lotion, shower gel, shampoo & conditioner but no dental kit.
Overall room was clean but dull colours but with good working digital AC and was comfortable. It was just a bit noisy with constant plane noise thru the night. Once your asleep its ok and they do provide ear plugs. Plus black out drapes.
Hotel provides free wifi with room credentials not sure how many devices but worked with two for me.
Catering includes a lobby bar and separate restaurant. This is where breakfast is at and though they have a large selection both western and turkish, hot food is a but disappointing quality wise. However breads and cheeses are good.
Leisure facilities include a modern gym. They did have a swimming pool but its closed for the near future.
Business facilities include a business centre, plus in lobby is a large room full of computers and printer. The hotel has large conference facilities.
There is also a shop with souvenirs, magazines and snacks.
Staff are ok, check-in was fast and polite. Restaurant staff can be a bit lazy, of 4 days I stayed 2 I got offered coffee at breakfast, no self service facility and twice staff just hang out on phone at the entrance during non busy times.
Overall great for airport but those who are noise sensitive maybe consider elsewhere because you are literarily end of runway here with take-offs frequently thru the night.
However it was good value for money. There is no point to stay here if you plan to do tourism stuff in old town.

Hotel is located on Station 3 - the quieter end of White Beach.
The main clubs, bars, restaurant are all about 10-15 min walk at Station 2, though some are closer.
For transportation - I used hotels own My Boracay guide to get to hotel from Caticlan Airport & is six hundred peso's. Very well organised pick up from airport via private bus, shared boat, private bus & small walk. Staff will carry your bags. It is worth it as there are many fixers trying to rip you off at the boat terminal. They also offer a private boat but costs nearly two thousand peso. I would suggest only if you have a family or group.
The location is very chilled directly on the beach with complimentary chairs & towels. The odd local does come & try to sell you boat tour but it is done so politely & not pushy.
The sea water is colourful but don’t expect to see any fish since many boats off shore nearby.
In close proximity is some convenience stores & restaurants. I highly recommend Sunny Side up, 5 minutes walk away for a top breakfast.
My room was a superior deluxe located upstairs near reception. Very comfortable room & this is what you pay for since the hotel does not offer breakfast or a pool.
Large queen bed had nice soft mattress topper & soft pillows of which you can select different ones from a pillow menu.
Either side are personal reading lights & large lamps, though one was stained. Light controls include a dimmer function.
In addition to a phone there is an alarm clock with apple lightning cable charging capabilities but it was broken with wrong time displaying.
Facing the bed is a large TV with about 150 channels at least via cable with viewing for every nationality including Sudanese! However controls are confusing since you need two controls, with no instructions or explanation meaning a call to housekeeping to come and explain.
There is a large desk with mirror, kettle & mini bar items in fridge. They offer a nice chocolate bar but be wary its nearly 5 euros.
A wardrobe contains a laptop size safe, a robe & slippers but no flip flops in which most beach hotels in Asia of this standard offer.
The bathroom is modern & boutique with nice water flow tap & shower cubicle but does take a while to get warm.
Amenities are a mix of hotel brands bottles, dental kits but also Dove shower dispenser & Dutch brand Rituals hand soap.
The room is carpeted in which is initially odd for a beach room but it does collect sand well. AC is good but only issue I had is that it is not very 'beachy' because the window is frosted and tiny & therefore slightly claustrophobic.
Obviously you wanna be at the beach, but when it rains it can be a little depressing just being in the room due to lack of natural light.
The hotel offer WIFI & whilst slow at times it works fine for FB or emails.
There is a restaurant / bar in reception but the food is not that memorable compared to other restaurants & is kind of pricey. They don't include breakfast in any room rate & one should therefore consider the additional expense of your staying for a week or more, since most hotels on the island do offer breakfast.
The beach is nice & they do offer chairs & towels. But since the chairs are fixed curved upright, I found them a bit uncomfortable for more than an hour. Also the layout of the chairs means sun will not come over you, since you are under palm trees until about 12pm. However view is fantastic especially for sunset.
Staff are generally nice but not particularly special that others have described. If you have been around Asia & Philippines in particular, hotel staff are nice everywhere. I found the reception girls a little lazy and somewhat rude unenthusiastic when it came to tours, despite at the tour desk.
After researching many hotels in Boracay & deciding on this hotel - I was a little disappointed. I found the vibe a little pretentious (talking about fellow Europeans as opposed to staff).
If you are deciding and a room is important to you then it's a great place to stay but for the price you can get breakfast included & also a swimming pool included at the some great other hotels on this island. Perhaps I had too higher expectations reading other reviews but I would say it's feels a little over priced & underwhelmed.

Belmont Hotel Manilla is located just across from Terminal 3, walking distance. Coming from Terminal 2 it is quite a hassle with a group hotel bus going every hour but it stops at every single hotel enroute & can take up to one hour & half from airport - since hotel is last stop. If coming from T2, use Grab App instead of taxi since costs about 250 peso, taxi is 800 peso.
Within the very safe area though is a large premium retail shopping mall with large casino & many restaurants and is less than 10 minute walk. Also McDonald's and a massage spa is less than 3 min walk away.
Room was quite nice of good size with a comfortable queen sized bed & plenty of comfortable pillows, slept very well.
Each side are handy international plug sockets above bedside tables and these each have mellow lamps.
Facing bed is a TV and plays full cable channels that includes CNN, Fox movies, Al Jazera, BBC, CCTV, TV5monde, Korean, German and Japanese in addition to local channels.
There is a small desk with a small mini bar fridge and a kettle - they have two complimentary bottles of water. There is also a stool and comfortable arm chair to watch TV or rest.
Open wardrobes are offered with a laptop size safe, complimentary slippers & robe.
AC is dial style and worked well, not to noisy.
The bathroom is small & poky and has a large window to bed room from the shower cubicle though a pull down blind is possible. However shower was powerful & hot.
Full hotel branded amenities of mini bottles of shower gel, body lotion and dental kits.
Overall room is functional and comfortable presented spotlessly clean.
The hotel offers free secure wifi for multiple devices. It's a bit slow & does drop frequently but it's ok for say emails.
Catering includes a cafe restaurant downstairs and a bar on the roof. The bar is next to a swimming pool & is quite relaxing in the evening for cocktails. Despite being outside smokers cannot smoke there due to new government regulations.
There is also a smallish gym with cardio equipment, sauna & business centre.
Within the building but outside is a Starbucks, another restaurant and a Lawson convenience store.
Staff are really friendly and upbeat. They always acknowledge you and ask how your doing - a big good morning was offered by all. Service is overall very good.
Overall would stay here again when in transiting thru Manila airport. The room was comfortable and the area has things to walk to and is very safe.

Dorsett is situated about 5-10 minute walk from the Olympic metro station in Mong Kok. One stop to Kowloon whereby you can connect to all areas of the city.
Located on quite a busy road of which there are many small bars, restaurants, pharmacies and convenience stores located nearby.
The hotel does have a free pick up and drop off service to some locations.
My room on 12th floor was quite compact but with a view.
Large mirrors and glass cabinets make up most off the decor. Not exactly cosy but functional.
The firm double bed was harder than expected but does offer flexible reading lights offered on both sides of frame.
There is one bedside table with a phone with one local plug socket.
Bed faces a small glass cabinet unit in which was ok for shirts but not for full length items such as suits or dresses- since it is short.
The unit offers a desk area but quite congested with many items on top of it, such as a kettle, an alarm clock with old iPhone socket charging capabilities & the mobile wifi charging station.
There is a refrigerator with some mini bar items. There is also a laptop size easy to use safe & facing the bed is the TV.
The TV is a bit grainy but offering 32 channels - these include a good balance of movie channels, international news networks such as BBC, Australian and RT plus many local channels.
The bathroom is in a glass unit within room, it is quite small & open though glass is frosted. Exceptionally powerful Shower offers both rain and hose versions.
Amenities offered are generous sized personal bottles of shower gel, shampoo & body lotion as well as dental kits. The room also has slippers, and in bedside drawers is a helpful plug adaptor and hair dryer.
Room has a decent dial AC unit that worked well and overall room was fine, not say premium but good value for money & for the most part clean.
Free open high speed wifi that worked well.
The unique feature of this hotel is the personal hot spot mobile wifi phone unit that can be used out and about with your phone/tablet able to connect to wifi without any restrictions. This helpful android based device also offers a a guide to local restaurants, entertainment and shopping with google maps integrated. A nice item but don't loose it.
The hotel does have a restaurant but didn't use. There is a small gym as well.
Staff offer a good service at this hotel. Good level of enthusiasm & quite efficient.
Overall a decent enough budget Hong Kong hotel that actually offers good value for Kowloon. However it is not that comfortable, cosy or premium but is functional for a short stay business traveller.
The mobile wifi unit is a really a great unique amenity and great to travel about the city with without racking up using your own data roaming charges.

The hotel is located in the village of Stuben, not far from the Aldberg tunnel & the S16 road.
A good stop when en route to Liechtenstein going west or Innsbruck going east. Liechtenstein is around 1 hour to the border. Innsbruck is about one hour and half away.
As with most of Austria, the area is very scenic with mountains and Ski passes all around. A cable car up the mountain is right next door.
The comfort room costing under fifty euros is exceptional value for money.
Large room with a very comfortable king size bed with various pillows. Good lightning either side and easy to access plug sockets. There is a side table with a phone and an oddly placed and unfortunately slightly grainy TV on it.
Some chairs and a coffee table with magazines in German plus a decent size wardrobe is offered with a small safe.
The toilet is in a separate room in corridor to bathroom.
Bathroom is very modern & spacious with a powerful rain shower.
Amenities include shampoo and shower gel plus a decent offering of towels.
The highlight of the room is a communal balcony with chairs that you can watch the busy road outside. You can also open the windows for fresh alpine air.
Very cosy and comfortable room with relaxing ambience though some light road noise outside.
There is free wifi that is secure and worked well.
Two restaurants exist - pizza one and the main restaurant. I only used for breakfast and the offering was generous healthy and fresh.
Parking is available for free.
Leisure facilities include a nice spa area with sauna, steam room and some cardio equipment. Clean and nicely set up but didn't use.
Staff are really nice & friendly. Appreciating them waiting for me to arrive at 11pm despite check-in closes at 10pm.
Very helpful with directions, plus restaurant staff were welcoming and enthusiastic.
Overall cannot fault this hotel, only the TV position could be improved but slept well with the fresh mountain air listening to the road outside.

Located about 7km up the less high mountain side from Innsbruck valley. Quiet and idyllic small Austrian village on side of hill near forest. Very nice spot.
The comfort room was very cosy. Decor had a boutique slightly scandinavian wooden finish with beige colours and scenic pictures.
The double bed had warm soft & comfortable bedding with plenty of decent light options on either side to create a nice ambiance. Suitable bed side tables with convienient plug sockets. Smallish TV with around 20 channels from the region but also BBC world service directly faces the bed.
The is a wooden desk and phone plus a luggage rack. Large wooden wardrobes include a laptop size safe but the room offers no refrigerator.
Outside is the highlight, a cosy chalet style private balcony that offers an idyllic mountain view. Seating and a table of which is great for a drink in the evening or smokers, not needing to leave room.
Weakness is no fan or AC and during my visit in the summer, room was quite warm. However slept well thanks to leaving the balcony door open all night allowing fresh alpine air and waking to the morning birds.
The bathroom is smallish and includes a good working shower plus amenities of small local brand of body lotion, shampoo and vanity kit. Plenty of towels. The room also includes a pair of slippers but no robe.
Overall a very nice room but does get warm during the day.
The hotel offers a traditional Austrian wooden bar and restaurant. Breakfast was a fairly good offering with a nice selection of continental breakfast offerings that including decent breads, cheese and meats.
WIFI is free and available throughout.
There is also a small kids area both inside and out. Parking was limited but still available for free.
Staff are really nice and welcoming. Helpful with information with a warm approach to guests is offered.
I would certainly return to this hotel if I return to Innsbruck. Very clean and comfortable, relaxing ambience from the boutique chalet style decor. Balcony and bed are the highlight. Only thing is how hot room gets in day time, they should at least provide fans.

Located on the Grossglockner high alpine road, about half way down the route just past the highest point.
The hotel is at an altitude of 2400 metres high that with outstanding views and various walking trails.
Perfect for those keen to do the Glossglockner road experience and as a result of booking, the hotel emails you a discount to enter the road, twenty five euro plus a free national park card that they register in your name. This gives guests access to free use of cable cars at various places along the route as well as other sights as far away as Kolnbrein Dam in this huge natural park.
The basic single room was clean with wooden cosy decor offering a mountain view.
Single but comfortable bed next to two power sockets but no bed side lights.
A small table and chair is offered plus a wardrobe. There is an old non flat screen TV with about 10, all local TV stations in German only.
The bathroom is of good size with a shower cubicle and some soap dispenser is offered.
One weakness is lighting, only two small lights of which are very dimly lit so can be a quite dark at night, couldn't read etc.
Overall the room for under sixty euros a night was good though since the location is perfect and room is quite cosy for a night. Slept beautifully thanks to the fresh cool alpine air coming thru the open window.
Hotel has wifi (limited to 500mb) and this worked fine on top floor. However I didn't really do much on my phone but left it on overnight and by morning had used the allocated 500mb already.
There is restaurant and this is where the complimentary continental breakfast is offered. It was fairly good and fresh. All decked out in cabin style and is a nice high mountain spot to dine.
I noticed a table football room and next door a relaxation reading room that was quiet with impressive mountain views.
Parking is also free with plenty of spaces.
Staff are nice and friendly, like majority of Austria. Helpful with road details and quite efficient. I didn't even know about the free National Park Card so was a pleasant surprise at breakfast to be handed this with my name already registered. If not staying at hotel, it costs to have this card.
Despite the simplicity of the room, the experience seemed good value for money. The location is the highlight and a unique experience up in the alpine clouds. Highly rate this place and hope to come back. The National Park Card was also a bonus.

Located on Queens st. right in centre of downtown Auckland. Comedy clubs, restaurants, bars, cinema and shops - all right outside.
From the airport it takes 30-40 min. A convenient sky bus to airport, stops right outside and costs about 32NZD return.
Room on the top floor was cosy and of good size offering a kitchenette with sink and microwave plus plates and glasses. There is also a kettle and generous selection of tea & coffee.
Two arm chairs, coffee table and also a small desk table is offered. A large TV on a movable table is offered with 9 cable channels. It doesn't however face the bed unless you move the table it's on (room 813).
The smallish double bed was comfy and offered small bedside tables with lamps. Local plug sockets available on one side.
A large wardrobe faces the bed and contains a ironing board, umbrella and laptop size safe.
The small bathroom has a shower cubicle with small bottle amenities from a local organic brand.
There is digital AC and the room was quiet. Overall a decent cost effective room in centre of Auckland.
The hotel offers free fast wifi for multiple devices. There are two Apple computers in lobby but they charge for internet use.
There is a cafe/bar/restaurant in which a buffet breakfast is offered but at a fee. There is also happy hour lunch and dinner for drinks. Food is ok but quite pricey for what it is.
Guest laundry machine is offered with complimentary powder in the room.
Staff are very accommodating at check-in. Welcoming and managed to find me a room earlier than check-in starts which was nice.
The staff in cafe are a bit slow and not as warm.
Overall Auckland is expensive for accommodation close to centre, whilst Scenic is not a five star hotel it offers a cosy reasonable priced room with the location being the benefit, especially for Skybus stop for transport to/from airport.

Hotel is located right in the centre of downtown, right next to freedom trails. Shops, bars, restaurants and everything of a downtown city is on the door step. Perfect location for tourism and business alike.
From BOS airport it takes around 10 minutes.
The room on the top floor was quite small but ok for one person. Classical style old room but clean with wooden decor and beige carpets in a historical theme.
A high king size bed is offered in which was very comfortable. Either side are glass top bed side tables, each with lamp, telephone and easy-to access plug sockets built into the side of it.There was also an alarm clock set to wrong time.
A wooden desk makes up one of them and is sufficient for working on a laptop, though a large mirror faces you. There is also some small basic coffee facilities. A not so comfortable armchair is also in room and this faces a corner unit that makes up the extensive mini bar. A large TV (with over 50 channels being offered) is on top but it means you annoyingly have to face it at an side view from bed.
A small cupboard has a basic luggage rack, ironing board and safe with some robes and area to hang clothes.
The bathroom is poky offering the typical combined bath and shower. Very dated and amenities include soaps, shampoo and body lotion from Omni hotels.
Being on the top floor, room did have a view of the town hall and also offered blacked out drapes. The window can be opened. There is also a AC unit as well.
The room is paper thin walls and got woken up at 3am thanks to neighbours having a party.
The hotel offers a bar and restaurant set in nice grand historical decor. However did not try the food. WIFI is free if your a member of OMNI otherwise you have to pay.
There is a business centre with a computer but it is not free to surf internet. Also a souvenir shop and star bucks is in the building.
On the ground floor there is a historical walk with pictures plus a full modern gym.
Staff are mixed, reception are ok. Restaurant host was a little judgemental when asked where lobby toilet was as he assumed I wasn't a guest. Check-in took a while as behind loads of air crew in which they should have a separate check-in like most hotels- because it takes ages as they get rooms for all their crew.
The hotel is in a stately home of classical and historical significance and therefore you pay for it- somewhat like boutique hotel. However for what you get room it seems a bit over priced and it was not a quiet room either. Noisy at 10pm then woken up at 3. Bring ear plugs.

The house is perfectly located within the vicinity of Barranco, everything is of minimal walking distance to some good restaurants, bars and a lot of street art work close to location. From Lima airport by Taxi- it takes around 40min-1hr. They use some local cab drivers in which they charge $20 for a pick up. $30 if using an airport taxi.
You can walk down to the beach in 5-10 minutes. Miraflores walking is about 45 minutes.
The house is on a hill cliff top and offers an amazing view from both the room and the garden of the coastline of Lima out to the Pacific Ocean.
It's very relaxing to open the balcony doors and listen to the waves at night with a nice fresh sea air breeze.
My room (3) was Ocean facing. It's initially a simple modest designed old but large room that grows on you quickly. The bed is very comfortable with a decent mattress and soft linen. Bed side table lamps either side but hard to find access to any close plug sockets.
The room offers a chair, side table with two bottles of water on it, a standing fan plus overhead fan with a light directly over the bed.
A tiny TV faces the bed offering local cable options and a tall wooden wardrobe.
There is an open plan bathroom right inside the room with toilet and a classical old free standing Bath tub combined as a shower with curtains.
Couples should be ok but sharing friends might find the open bathroom to be awkward privacy wise, since the toilet is in the same room. Amenities include some eco friendly shampoo and soaps. Decent towels. It initially feels simple comparing to what one is basically charged at the same rate as neighbouring 4 star hotels, but it warmed on me because the ambience is a unique experience.
The wooden balcony doors for instance that can be opened, is great for hearing the sea air, you can even have a bath & watch the waves from it (in room 3). I was blown away by how relaxing & unique it is, just listening to the waves and observing the art in the old room was a special experience.
The hotel offers free WIFI that is slightly slow but still it was available throughout the building, works for multiple devices.
On my room and I believe the others have communal porch areas where you relax and watch the sea, depending where you are. Front communal balcony as well offers a some nice seats with a great view of the sea, if your not in the front ocean facing rooms.
You get breakfast included in the price that is given out to you but it is quite minimal. A slice of melon, pineapple, 3 bread rolls & egg cooked to you liking. It's fresh but could be more of an offering of juices.
Obviously you are staying in a art museum and the grounds have paintings and sculptures everywhere. Really nice pieces from this famous Peruvian artist. Tours can be arranged.
The beautiful garden has a superb sea view. Stairs there lead to a pool a few levels down the side of the cliff. Nice refreshing pool of decent size for a private house, surrounded by art work.
Very secure grounds that has a door bell system to get in the large steel door.
There are also friendly animals - dog and cat, they don't hassle you & are very mellow so do not worry if your scared.
Staff are ok but not so efficient, booked a taxi to pick me up and one expect staff to check flight arrival time. Because I was an hour & half early from Madrid, I had to take an airport taxi. However return journey used theirs. Driver is very nice but doesn't speak much English.
Hotel staff are friendly enough but its got a slight 'this is a privilege to be staying here' vibe, with a detailed rules and regulations letter you get upon arrival (like going to boarding school). However I understand they need to preserve the place, but one wouldn't get such a letter at a hotel. The check-out time is also very early at 11am, most earliest of other hotels in area, but you can use the pool and stow your baggage.
Overall though try and speak Spanish since majority of staff don't speak English.
I did enjoy my experience staying at an art museum and rate it as that rather than staying in hotel. You do pay for it though but the art work was worth it. Ocean facing rooms is certainly worth the upgrade.

Guest house is located about 5-10 minutes drive from JNB airport. They offer free 24hr transfers if you inform them of your flight details. If however like me you decide to hire a car, to get to Soweto is about 1 hour and downtown area around 35-45 minutes. Kempton park seems like a suburb of the airport. I wouldn't say there is much to walk to etc. The place is very secure inside a compound.
The room is rows of ground level attached cottages with glass sliding doors and private covered porches.
The room is quite small due to the large king size bed that takes up most of the space. However there is still room for a luggage rack workable desk with kettle & plugs and tall empty wardrobe.
The bed is very comfortable with lots of pillows, nice bedding and bed side tables each side. Access to plug sockets though is limited to the desk sockets. If your not local to the country, you will need a plug socket adaptor because SA has their own unique design of which main stream adaptors won't fit. Staff though did kindly provide one to me since I was only there one night.
The room also offers a cable TV positioned in corner of ceiling with many international channels.
The room also offers an above bed fan but no AC, however didn't find it hot. Decor is warm, homely and room is very clean with a Christian feel about it. The desk is sufficient if you need to get work done.
The adjoining bathroom is of adequate size offering a shower cubicle their own in-house branded mini amenity bottles.
The noticeable items missing in the room is a safe & mini fridge but this is a guest house. I would say a safe is not important because the property seems very secure in my opinion. A couple of other thing is that a blue light does face you from TV area (when lights out and off) in which can't be turned off. It's kind of annoying so bring an eye mask, There provide a nice collection of main stream magazines to read.
The hotel offers free parking, free wifi (though it is slightly slow) & free breakfast.
The breakfast starts and finishes quite early and offers a buffet plus an egg cooked to your liking, it's meeting a good standard of food.
They also offer a dinner buffet at around 160zar but since I went out I didn't experience this.
All these catering facilities are by the medium size pool in what they call the entertainment zone. This consists of a bar, pool & ping pong table, a gym upstairs and plenty of tables to sit & unwind with complimentary coffee. There is also an out door area with fire burning to relax at. There is also a traditional curio shop. Overall for a guest house it offered very nice facilities.
Staff are what shone out at Sunrock. Naturally helpful and caring especially with their concerns about me visiting Hilbrow. Check-in and check-out is fast and they remember your first name. Staff also accompany you to room. Excellent level of service that gave a homely and a relaxed atmosphere to your stay.
Previously I stated at Intercontinental at airport & while that is nice. Sunrock proved to be a decent alternative that was quiet, clean, welcoming and excellent value for money. I would definitely stay here again if I go back to JNB.

The hotel is located about 10 minutes drive north of airport. You can actually walk down the beach about 10-15 minutes and be located at end of runway, great for watching planes come & go.
The only issue is the taxis don't do share vans like they do to Phuket town or Patong in which those places cost like 150baht. To get to Mai Khao is a extortionate fee of 600 baht for a 5-10min journey. About 10 times the price of Bangkok taxis. However after discussing with staff for return journey, I was advised to use grab app in which is about half the price, it's like Uber. Mai Khao is about 5-10 min bicycle ride, it is a small little village but does have a few restaurants, pharmacy, 7-11 & some massage places but don't expect a lively night life spot. The hotel location is quiet with a very clean and nice beach with great sunset, perfect if you need to be close to airport. Some people have commented on aircraft noise but this is only noticeable by the pool on the beach, where you can see take off but at a distance and certainly no overhead planes.
The room is very nice and meeting a good standard. I found no such mould smell that another reviewer commented on. It's a boutique room with a comfortable mattress topped king size bed. Decent quality and well thought out comfort bedding. The bed offers flexible reading lights, bedside tables & US plug sockets either side. Nice coloured walls and a photo creating a relaxing beach-feel ambience. Facing the bed is a large long desk with a stool facing a mirror. Good for making up but not so much for working due to no plugs nearby. A colourful arm chair and large TV also faces you. Full satellite cable channels that has something suitable for all international travellers to watch. There is a nice luggage rack & mini bar fridge with various items. A large wardrobe with laptop size safe and robes are also offered.
The bathroom is of adequate size, very clean and new (hotel is only a year old) offering a rain shower and detachable head. They offer some mini bottle amenities of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner plus dental & vanity sets.
The bathroom like majority of new Asian hotels has a window that faces the bedroom but blinds are offered for privacy.
The room also offers a large balcony with a comfortable bench suitable for smokers. My room was in lower price bracket and faced the lagoon. It was ok and quiet. The sea view would be nice upgrade though since the sunsets are quite stunning.
Overall the highlight of the room was the soft bed in which reminded me close to the Sofitel beds but not quite, though very comfortable and has a warm boutique ambience.
There is fast speed secure wifi for multiple devices hotel wide. For catering the hotel offers a bar and restaurant in which offered a full Thai menu and I enjoyed the tasty yellow curry priced around 200 baht. Cocktails are well made and would recommend their signature Blue Coriacea. They offer a happy hour during sunset hours of 150bt per cocktail.
Breakfast overall was a better standard than many Thai hotels I have stayed at outside of Bangkok with three hot food options, eggs as you like it, pancakes or Thai soup made to order but also a continental buffet is offered with breads & fruits.
There is a pool, smaller than expected on photos but is nice for a cool dip with fantastic views of beach in front, it's an Infiniti design and there is a swim up bar that didn't seem to be in operation when I was there despite hotel being full. They also offer a gym but the main highlight to me was the free use of bicycles to cycle around the beach, which has a dedicated pathway or road to village. They have lights and the village is quiet so not dangerous to cycle about in which I enjoyed.
There is no spa but the hotel can arrange a massage at hotel from local spas in village.
If your hiring a car there is ample parking spaces.
Staff are generally very friendly but not very proactive. It's not a hotel where you can expect to be offered a drink when on sun loungers by pool but you have to go to bar which means going into restaurant. Not a great option if you are wet coming out of pool.
They are quite strict with check-in times and arriving at 10am was told check-in is not open until 2 said in a blunt manner & had to ask if ok to wait by the pool which was not a problem. However asked for a towel and initially told not available but then was offered after asking someone else. Some staff do not speak English that well either.
The manager though is very nice and she does the cocktails in the evening. Overall though for Phuket in which is saturated in tourism the staff at this hotel do have an enthusiastic upbeat smile to make passengers welcome and they acknowledge you, which is lacking in many beach hotels in Thailand these days.
I certainly would stay at this hotel again when needing to be in Phuket as I enjoyed this very clean boutique hotel. It offers with a decent beach and enjoyed cycling around the village both daytime and in the evening thanks to the great perk to include free bikes since various places in town charge.

About 30 minutes drive from Perth Airport, around 10-15 from downtown Perth. It is right on Scarborough Beach promenade, the beach is 1 min walk. There are tons of bars, restaurants and shops all less a few minutes walk away or within building.
Room on the 20th floor offered a nice sea view from a balcony set up with two chairs and a table. The room itself is large with a king size bed soft bed, bedside tables with lamps on each side, both with plug access (AUS) and an alarm clock. To the side of the bed is two nice arms chairs and a small table. Facing the bed is a long unit, with a glass top desk on the right hand side, lamp and plugs. A large set of drawers has a big TV on top with over 40 DTV cable channels with many options. Below is a mini bar that offers some soft drinks, chocolates, beers and a wine bottle. There is also a kettle for hot drinks.
A convient luggage rack is also offered on one side. A large mirror sliding doors opens to a large laptop size safe and ironing board.
The bathroom is of adequate size with a large shower cubicle. Amenities include Bathe branded body wash, body balm, shampoo and conditioner.
Overall the decor is nice and the room is fairly comfortable but would say mid range rather luxurious. However it was clean has digital AC and a balcony with a superb view of the coast.
Catering facilities include a restaurant and lobby bar- that has a nice snooker table. Didn't try the food. Leisure facilities include a lagoon style pool very nice with a waterfall and pool bar. Very nice for children. There is also a observation deck which is great for a sunset over the ocean.
There is a business centre as well. WIFI is complimentary for 12 hours.
Parking is available for 15 dollars a day.
Staff seem friendly and relaxed. Easy check-in and out. overall good service including pool bar area.
Overall a nice hotel in a perfect spot. make sure you get a sea view balcony, it is worth it.

Located fairy near to the main central area of Xian, but just outside of the city wall. To get to say the main city temples it is 2-3km away, whilst the main airport is around 45 minutes drive away.
The SPG preferred room on the 16th floor was clean and cosy but somewhat dull and dated for their premium loyal members level product. The room offered a large king size bed that was quite tough. It was ok though for sleeping but did not have the noticeable comfy mattress topper experienced in some Sheratons. There were two types of pillow, one feather and soft the other more springy. Slept well though. Either side are marble top bed side tables, each with a lamp and one with alarm clock and phone. You can control the lights with switches and main side has dimmer function but unfortunately no accessible power sockets next to bed.
To the side of the bed is a lounge arm chair with foot stall comfy enough to watch the TV that faces the bed in upright position from side.
There is a large glass top desk offering a dimmable lamp & mirror plus a full international power socket plug unit with doc sockets. LAN cable is also offered and a phone. The table is clean but feels a bit dated.
There is a large wide screen TV facing bed offers around about 52 channels such as BBC, CNN, RT, Bloomberg, discovery with the rest being local Channels. Below the TV is a large cabinet with mini bar of small drinks and a chocolate but also a large red wine. Hot drink facilities include only one sachet of coffee plus breakfast, black and chamomile tea.
There is a padded luggage rack conveniently next to the TV.
In the hall way is the kettle and two complimentary waters. There is a large wardrobe with lap top size safe, one robe, pair of slipppers, iron and board.
The bathroom faces this area and is very Art Deco with the American influence of the combination bath shower. Something you don't expect of a premium 5 star hotel but more along the lines of a motel etc. However though dated, the marble finish bathroom was clean and decorative. Amenities include a full set of Sheraton branded shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, dental and razor kits and mouthwash. Towels are decent. The main room has a dial heating/AC system that is quiet and worked ok.
Overall a clean cosy room with carpeted floor and classical wooden decor offering good natural light from the large windows. Just lacking anything innovative in room.
The hotels offers restrictive wifi whereby sometimes VPN works sometimes not. For non Chinese users bing is only search option as the rest are government banned. It is ok in room but it is not secure but you need password to use in lobby. Other business facilities include a dedicated business centre with offices and meeting room but also 5 or so desk top computers in the lobby with printer. Again it was slow to use.
Catering facilities included three restaurants, only used one for breakfast and was adequate but a bit disappointing such as no egg station. Just a big buffet, other than breads & cereals not much is for the international guest.
There is a large lobby bar with many international beers plus a cafe area with cakes etc.
Leisure facilities include a pool, long for lengths and a modern gym with decent equipment. There is also a spa for massages.
On the ground floor there is A SPG gift shop where you can buy the bedding as well as a Chinese shop for drinks etc. A wedding shop also is there as well as ATM machine. Overall a decent amount of facilities.
Staff are quite friendly and helpful and spoke English adequately.
Overall for a Chinese city Sheraton it was as a bit disappointing in terms of room and breakfast but does have 5 star facilities. The location though is good for sight seeing and business in down town area.

The Days Inn is located on one of the main roads into centre of Bellingham, quite close to University. There is s big Arboretum a few blocks away, great for walks and the coast side park views is within 5-10 minute drive away.
Seattle airport is about 2.5 hr drive /100 miles and Vancouver airport is 1hr 20 or so by car.
In terms of walking distance there are fast food restaurants and a recreational dispensary across the road. Some other pharmacy and cafes not far to walk.
The room was quite dated but comfortable for a Days Inn. A large soft double bed offered bed side tables, an alarm clock and each side had a lamp but you will need to unplug one if you need a plug. There is a large heater unit next to a large table with chairs suitable for dining.
Facing the bed is a set of wardrobes with TV on top, it's connected to a separate box so it's not so easy to just turn on. However once figured, they offer about 70 channels such as main cable and HBO channels.
A desk with mirror in front is shown with telephone, lamp and chair. There is also a coffee maker, microwave stacked on top of a small fridge on floor.
A side open wall wardrobe with hangers if offered, and had a luggage rack, iron and ironing board.
The bathroom is of standard motel size with combined bath shower unit offering small amenity bottles of body lotion, shampoo and conditioner plus soap.
Overall the room was comfortable and reasonable for price paid. The only slight issue I had was the slight pong smell as you enter I think from the carpet. You don't really notice it after a while though. It does feel very dated.
The hotel offers decent standard secure for multiple devices free wifi. Free parking and vending machines. It is a motel. There is a lounge seating area by reception. Breakfast is offered limited to a panacea machine, some breads, bagels, muffins and cereals. There is also some decent coffee offered.
Really nice reception staff, chilled out like most of the people in this town. Was able to check me in early and explained details well. The do annoyingly require a deposit despite empty mini bar but presume they have had cases of people walking off with their microwaves or TV etc.
Overall good value for money in a town of the interstate between Seattle and Vancouver great for a stop over not far from Canadian border and also good for outlet shopping when not wanting to be close to Seattle area. The room could just do with a safe and some air freshener.

Located in a central area in Batam not far from all the downtown area if not within. From the airport it takes about 30 minutes drive. Within area is a convenience store & reflexology across the road and some shops down a walk way. The harbour is also just down the road.
Room was of decent size, modern with good lighting- very Chinese hotel design. The huge king size bed was very comfortable with a mattress topper offered. Bed side tables each side offering lamps and international plug sockets. No alarm clock but a phone is offered.
Facing the bed is a clear TV with a good selection of channels not only local but some international choices. There is also a mini bar below with drink and food items. Plus a kettle on top for making hot drinks.
The rooms offers an armchair, coffee table and glass top workable desk with lamp- next to international plugs. The room also has a luggage rack and wardrobe that includes a laptop size safe and slippers but no robes.
The bathroom is also of good size offering a spacious shower cubicle but the water pressure seems to fade out now and then which you keep have to turn off and on again, Mini hotel branded bottles of body lotion, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are offered as well as a full set of amenities such as shaver and dental kits etc.
Then only weakness of the room was the digital AC unit - the room was presented hot and it took a long while with AC on with no temperature change so had to call maintenance. They did repair it but then the room became too cold and the fan is quite noisy. This did disrupt my sleep overall which was annoying.
The hotel offers free WIFI which worked fine without any issue, it is not secure and multiple devices can be used.
Leisure facilities include a smallish swimming pool but possible to do lengths- with sun loungers and some outdoor seating. There is also a separate male and female sauna and a gym with mostly cardio equipment. There is also a SPA and I had massage in which was quite average.
Catering incudes a lounge bar, restaurant and cafe- did not use any of these due to late arrival and early departure. This is all in lobby area and is not that well ventilated - so found it quite hot even for check-in and check-out which is next to these facilities.
The hotel does offer meeting and conference rooms as well.
Staff were ok but lacked efficiency, check-out took a while with only one staff in the morning, frustrating when you have only one car waiting to pick you up.
Overall the bed was comfortable but the AC system let the room comfort down, and this seemed to be the case in the lobby and catering area's as well. It sort of wants to be 5 star but is obviously a 4 star hotel. However if I came back to Batam I would choose alternative hotel as sleep in the most comfortable and this was affected.

Mountain view lodge is located just off HWY 12, a few minutes from the town of Backwood. Mt. Rainer national park is about a 18 mile drive away. From Seattle airport by car takes just under 3 hours drive and about 100 miles away. Portland is just over 2 hours away.
The lodge is an area of stunning nature & about 3 min walk is a flowing river, great for photos. Packwood is small mountain type town with a small logging locals type vibe. It's very chilled & picturesque with Mt Rainer view seen from it. An old scene like going back in time and does offer a handful of restaurants, small food stores, liquor and tobacco store, a salon bar and a few shops and gas station. If you like Burgers then try Cliff dropper - delicious hand made burgers.
The upstairs standard room was simple but cosy, it's located on inner side of the motel so my windows views was of the garden but directly outside windows are hotel corridors. However the curtains are thick.
The room has nice old style wooden wall decor of bright colours. A heater unit and AC unit is offered, the heater worked well. There is a nice antique desk and drawers, all wooden style.
The double bed was comfortable and one side has a wooden bed side table with a nice lamp. Plug sockets on wall nearby.
Facing the bed on top of the wooden drawers is a smallish TV that offered plenty of local cable channels at least 40, it worked well and was sufficient.
There is a fridge in the room and a old wooden desk with large mirror in front plus telephone. The wardrobe is an open closet with luggage rack and coat hangers.
Bathroom offers a shower cubicle with plenty of towels plus body lotion and shower gel mini bottle amenities.
Overall the room is cosy and appropriate value for money for this idyllic hiking country area. However don't expect a safe or hot drink making facilities.
My room had free wifi with a password and worked fine. Note the area has no phone reception, so having wifi is helpful in planning your day.
The lobby though does offer some leaflets and was told they offer breakfast there at 730 in the morning, however had to leave earlier than that so didn't experience it. There is a vending machine for drinks though outside.
The grounds of the hotel offer a nice garden with small lodge rooms surrounding it & I believe a communal outdoor fire place. There is a pool that likely opens in the summer and a children's play area. The hotel offers free parking & the highway is right outside but it's very quiet at night.
Reception lady was really nice, she offered me a room upgrade on ground floor if I paid hotel directly and cancel my Hotel com reservation. However since I collect nights I declined. She did offer a helpful map of the area for forest hikes & where to eat.
Overall it's a old lodge but cheapest in area and it was good, very cosy, very clean, quiet and comfortable at end of October which is not high season as the sky passes were closed. The proximity is great being close to drive to popular hikes and skiing area. Wildlife is also in this area & you may see a elks on the property.
I would definitely stay here again if I came back to mount Rainer.
