ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel (Narita, Japan)

4 Case Rating

Located about 10-15 minute drive from Narita Airport. Free airport bus pick up is outside terminal 1 & 2 and goes once an hours for the hours of 6am, 10-4pm. 4 times an hour (7am), 3 times an hour (8am), twice an hour (9am, 5pm-9pm). The hotel is located right next to the motorway and offers a good view of the airport in the distance. There is though nothing else nearby and Narita town is not in walking distance.

Room was located on 16th floor and so was more premium, largish for Japan (but not quite suite) room with two single beds, large flat screen panasonic TV, an arm chair, a setee, small table, desk and chair. There is suffifient space in multiple cupboards and wardrobes. Lighting is fairly mellow with lots of lamps and flexible reading lights by the beds with a digital AC controls that worked well. Bathroom is largish with the electric bidet toilet with heated seat, combined bath tub and shower. Amenities were plentiful but were plain Crown Plaza branded.
The furnishings are brown wooden and decor is conservative and a little dull. However the room was clean and some what cosy, the window offered a great view of the airport and motorway. The bed however was a little too firm for my preference. A nice touch is a good plug unit in the middle of the beds with 4 plugs slots (bring US adaptors if you use them).

There are 3 restaurants. Two on the top floor, bar food one and one set menu restaurant but didn’t use, they both offer good views on the 17th floor though. The cafeteria is on the ground floor and that is where breakfast is held. Food is average hotel food. There is also a pool, sauna and football pitch. The pool looked clean but is fairly simple gymnasium style. On the 1st floor by reception there is also a food mart which is basically a 711 offering food, drinks, toiletries and some souvenirs etc. WIFI is available but is rather annoying because although you get your own router box in the room, you only can use it there and it cost 700Y. For the restaurants on top floor and ground floor you must obtain another password but it is available free there.

Staff were nice and very efficient as in all of Japan with smooth check-in and check out. With restaurant staff again efficient in their service.
Overall the hotel is nothing special, quite bland overall with no wow factor but nice for one night close to the airport.
